AIMG Arthropod Collection
The loss of Isopoda specimens in museum collections due to neglect and inadequate care could be a growing concern for Isopodologists around the world. Specifically, in the Americas, many valuable specimens have been lost, leading to a significant loss of historical knowledge on Isopoda biogeography and type specimens. To address this issue, the AIMG Committee has acted by creating a properly cataloged collection of Isopoda specimens. The collection currently consists of 33 vials, containing a total of 206 specimens representing 21 species. Specimens can be sent to anyone upon request; however, the goal of this collection is to promote research into these amazing species therefore we would prefer to send specimens to individuals working on such research projects. If you would like to donate specimens it would be greatly appreciated.
