Suggested Common Name: San Juan Beach-Cerberus
Etymology: after the San Juan Islands, where this subspecies was originally described.

Size Range: to 1.2mm
Description: (modified from Coineau & Deboutteville, 1968) Body more robust than in abbotti, appendages averaging longer and more robust. Antenna 1 peduncle segment 1 as long as segment 2, segment 2 plumose seta narrow, not broadening distally. Labium ventrally curved. Mandible left lacinia 4-toothed, lateral tooth tightly appressed to adjacent tooth; left spine row with 3 spines; molar with 2 large appressed stiff setae. Pereonites 2-4 lateral lobe medial teeth blunt. Pereopods 5-7 ischium with 2 dorsal setae; basis averaging slightly narrower than in abbotti. ♂ pleopod 2 cannula sinuate but not coiled, tips directed laterally, subapical teeth further from tip than in abbotti. Pleopod 3 endite medial margin with 5 large serrate teeth.
Geographic Range: Only known from the San Juan Islands in the Salish Sea, has not been reported since the original description. Reported a meter from the shore in fine sand with mixed pebbles
Notes: As with the nominate, the combination given here has never been formally given, so it is officialized here.
